What is Giving Tuesday?

GivingTuesday is an international day of generosity, celebrated this year on 29 November.

Today, we want to remind you that your help can radically change the fate of those forced to seek shelter from state persecution.

This fundraising this fundraising campaign is a joint project of the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum and the volunteer organisation Quarteera

Kai (they)

LGBTQ+ activist and St. Petersburg. They left because of stricter propaganda and an inability to be of any use to society at the moment. The need to continue activism has forced them to seek ways to leave the country.

Petr (he)

A doctor, LGBT(+)-activist, LGBT historian, founder of the Queer Museum.
Left due to pressure and threats from the authorities.

Olya (she)

Left Russia, fearing persecutions due to volunteer activities and a threat to the integrity of the family.

Elena (she) and Tatyana (she)

A family from Samara who had to leave with their children to express unequivocal opposition to what is happening. They have a children's centre in Russia and had no problems with their surroundings and work before the war. But because of the justification of the war by those around them and the support of propaganda, there was a fear of remaining in the country.

Vika (she) and Marina (she)

Vika, a blogger from St Petersburg, was forced to leave the country urgently with her wife and daughter due to threats and the pressure from the law enforcement.
